The USMC Corporal Nicholas G. Xiarhos

Nicholas G. Xiarhos was the son of
Yarmouth Deputy Chief of Police Steven Xiarhos and his wife, Lisa.
Nicholas Xiarhos was a 2006
graduate of Dennis-Yarmouth
Regional High
School. He went to Marine boot camp that
summer. In addition to serving in Afghanistan,
he had served in intense fighting in Anbar,
Iraq, the
statement said.
Xiarhos was a squad automatic
weapons gunner, squad leader, with the Second Battalion, Eighth Marine
Weapons Company, based at Camp
Lejeune, N.C.
Cpl. Xiarhos died after being
wounded in combat in Afghanistan's
Garmsir District.
He is the recipient of the Order of the Purple Heart.

Criteria ~
The student must be:
- A
Dennis-Yarmouth Regional High School student in good standing
- A resident
of the Town of Yarmouth, Massachusetts

Attending a college or university
as a Criminal Justice major and,
·
Pursuing
a career in law enforcement
A companion
scholarship is give by the Corporal Nicholas G. Xiarhos Foundation, one each
to a male and a female student who:

Did the most for others.
